BrushUp for iPhone & Apple Watch
Your brushing data stays yours.
BrushUp is designed to help you build a better brushing routine without sending your personal information anywhere.
Last updated: October 25, 2026
The short version
BrushUp does not collect or transmit personal data. Your settings, brushing history, and statistics remain on your devices.
1. What data we collect
BrushUp does not collect data that leaves your device. The following information is stored locally using Apple’s UserDefaults or equivalent local storage:
- BrushSettings: your app preferences and brushing settings.
- BrushSessionRecord: your brushing session history.
- BrushStats: statistics calculated from your brushing activity.
We do not receive, access, or store this information on our servers.
2. How data moves between devices
When BrushUp syncs information between your iPhone and Apple Watch, it uses Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework. This transfer stays on your devices and within Apple’s ecosystem. It is not sent to BrushUp, our servers, or any third party.
3. Third parties and SDKs
BrushUp does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporters, or other services that collect information from the app.
4. Data retention and deletion
Because BrushUp data is stored locally, it remains on your device until you remove it. Deleting the BrushUp app removes its locally stored settings, brushing history, and statistics from that device. BrushUp does not retain a copy.
If your version of BrushUp includes a “Clear History” action in Settings or History, using it deletes the locally stored brushing history and any statistics derived from that history.
5. Permissions used
BrushUp does not require access to contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera, or other personal content. If you enable brushing reminders, the app may request permission to send notifications. Notifications are used only to deliver those reminders and are not used to collect personal data.
No other data-access usage-description permissions were identified in the reviewed app code.
6. Children’s privacy
BrushUp does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect information that leaves the device, it does not create a separate online profile for any user.
